After the success of The Jolson Story, it was only natural that Al Jolson, who had become a sure-fire guest star on radio, returned to the airwaves with a program of his own. Returning to his roots, and a program he had started, Al Jolson opened the 1947 season of the Kraft Music Hall with this program. Along with a regular supporting cast including ascerbic Oscar Levant, Al Jolson had another popular star of the day, Edgar Bergen, as guest star, along with Bergen's alter ego, Charlie McCarthy. This program marked the start of two wonderful years of association between Jolson and Kraft, and the source of many hours of song. With one click, you can hear how it all began!
