Taking a cue from this being the 73^rd anniversary of Jolson's passing, the radio slang of "73," meaning "Best Regards," suggested looking back to entertainers past, as we Give Our Regards to Jolson.

Using archival material from the past four decades, excerpts of historic performances by Clive Baldwin, Eddie Ambrose, Ira Green and Rudy Wissler were posted to the website. Fascinating talks by Irving Caesar, Davey Lee, Sybil Jason and Betty Garrett Parks explored their history with Al Jolson. And, just to keep it fresh, a presentation of Jolson Archival material by David Huss, and a modern interpretation of Jolson songs by Vlad Petnicki were also included.

The clips on the website Virtual Festival were in the 10 minute range. But here, on this DVD, are the full performances and presentations of those individuals. Together there are over six hours of entertainment, far more than could be posted online. Songs, jokes, stories, insight, and legends are all part of the action.

Because this material came from video recordings that are, in some cases, over 40 years old, the quality of the video and audio is not always up to modern standards. You will see blurry video, artifacts, and edits. The audio is sometimes a bit hard to understand, or variable in volume. I hope these flaws will not detract from your enjoyment of this priceless material, from singular individuals in the Jolson universe.
